The European Music Platform

Eurosonic Noorderslag

13 Jan 2016 - 16 Jan 2016
Wed 13 Jan 2016
40 venues in Groningen

For four days every second week of January, Groningen is the centre of European music. By night, during two showcase festivals (Eurosonic and Noorderslag), musical talent has the chance to present itself to an international audience of music lovers and professionals.

By day an international music conference takes place, the key exchange and networking platform for European music. Selling out each year the Eurosonic Noorderslag Conference attracts over 3,900 delegates, including representatives of more than 400 international festivals.

Over the last 30 years Eurosonic Noorderslag has grown to become the European Music Platform, organising the following activities:

Showcase festivals Eurosonic & Noorderslag
This year’s line-up, of the showcase festivals Eurosonic and Noorderslag, features more than 320 acts from 32 European countries. Check out this overview of acts per country.

Eurosonic Noorderslag has been responsible for kick-starting the careers of European acts like Ásgeir, Aurora, Bastille, Dotan, Ibeyi, James Blake, Jett Rebel, Hozier, Milky Chance, Royal Blood, Seinabo Sey and Vök.

Eurosonic Noorderslag Conference
The key exchange and networking platform for European music. The programme features 150 panels, keynote speakers, interviews, workshops, dinners, pitches, parties and meetings, covering the latest developments in the international music, media, production and interactive industries.

Conference registrations can be obtained here.

Next to the conference there is the European Production Innovation Conference (EPIC). EPIC is entirely focused on innovation at festivals and venues, and offers three days of discussions, and presentations of products, alongside new ideas and how to implement them at festivals, concerts, venues, and in the production of events.

A range of national and international awards are presented during Eurosonic Noorderslag to highlight success within the music industry:

European Talent Exchange Programme (ETEP)
Together with the 100 main music festivals in Europe, 25 European public radio stations from the EBU and supported by the international music press, we help Eurosonic Noorderslag artists to cross borders in Europe and build European and international careers.

Eurosonic Noorderslag has organised the European Talent Exchange Programme (ETEP) since 2003. In that time the ETEP programme has racked up a total of 2,294 shows by 810 European artists from 30 countries at the 100 ETEP festivals (2003 – 2014).

Focus on Central Eastern Europe
As the conclusion of the Central European Talent Exchange Programme (CEETEP), Eurosonic Noorderslag 2016 will focus on the CEE territories. Read more about the Focus.
